PTA Activities Survey, due by August 20th

Farmland ES, along with other elementary schools, recently learned that there will be no funding for activity buses or school sponsored after school programs like homework club and writing club. PTA programs are unaffected since they are funded by parents and only passed through the PTA. However, the PTA has piggybacked on the services of the activity bus to return kids home in the afternoons.

The school working with the PTA is investigating the feasibility of requesting our own activity bus as a pass-through transportation cost. If we are not able to offer a transportation option, we need to assess whether there is enough interest to offer the afterschool program(s).

Please complete the following survey only if you have interest in at least one of the following: Chess Club, Group Piano, FLES, Mad Science, or GOTR. We will only offer these programs if there is enough interest from this survey.

Advertise in the 2010 Student Directory

Farmland ES is one of the largest elementary schools in the southern part of Montgomery County and our families are always looking for good recommendations for all sorts of products and services. They include lessons (music, art, gymnastics, martial arts etc.), recreational options (swim clubs etc.) and services (child care, legal services, real estate, insurance, financial planning, beauty etc.). Reach out to this market by advertising in the PTA sponsored student directory.

Click here for our Directory Advertising Contract and for more information, please contact Don Cooksey at donald.cooksey@verizon.net. Premium placement ads are on a first-come, first-served basis and with priority given to previous advertisers.

Looking for Vendors for Holiday Boutique

Our first annual Farmland Holiday Boutique last year was a huge success and we’ve planned Sunday, December 5 for this year’s event. Local vendors from our very own community are invited to sell their unique gift items like jewelry, crafts, toys, belts, purses, hair accessories etc. These items are often hand-made and feature the creativity of our local artisans. It’s a wonderful opportunity to find one-of-a kind gift items and also support your school.

If you would like to sell your crafts, jewelry, accessories, or other gifts to our eager Farmland shoppers, please click here: Holiday Boutique Contract and feel free to contact Andrea Nadelman at aknadelman@yahoo.com if you have any questions.

Are you on the PTA Listserv?

Please make sure at least one member of your family is subscribing to the PTA listserv. It is the most economical and quickest method for disseminating information to parents and is for ALL PARENTS not just PTA members. Important information and deadlines about school news, activities, and events are communicated through the listserv. Please don’t miss out.

See "Get PTA emails" on the side panel to register. Emails from the listserv contain [FarmlandPTA] in the subject line. Choose between two delivery methods: individual emails (you will receive them as they are sent) or a daily digest (emails are compiled for the day).
