Useful Math Web Sites

At a past SIP meeting, many teachers spoke about the need for students to have complete mastery of basic facts. This list includes websites that address that as well as other math skills. Thanks to Njeri Williams, our Staff Development Teacher, for providing this resource to all of us (this was handed out at Math Night):

ThatQuiz Has timed or untimed facts for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. You can choose the number of problems and can do more than one function at a time. You do not need to enter a test code. Just click on the word addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division under “Practice your facts.”
Math.com Basic fact practice.
Basic Facts Timed or untimed basic fact practice.
Lizardpoint Online practice and printable sheets for basic facts.
Mrs. Dell Multiplication practice.
MCPS Links to sites for basic fact practice.
All Math Flash cards and links to other sites as well as online math games.
SuperKids Create your own math worksheets.
Prongo Two player addition game.

BBC Bitesize Engaging activities and quizzes. Many of them can be used by students who struggle with standard math tools.
What’s My Angle? Ten interactive activities that teach the use of a protractor. Great for kids with fine motor difficulties who could benefit from an electronic protractor and the ability to type instead of draw.
National Library of Virtual Manipulatives This site has math manipulatives online, is quick and easy to use, has activities that promote problem solving skills and is free.
NumberNut Background information on math topics with some related online activities to go with them. The online activities are mostly interactive drill and practice.
